Woe is me! How can it be that the dopest, freshest, realest, illest rap group ever, G-Unit, is dissolving right before my eyes?
First, what seems like a long time ago, it began with the defection of The Game. The Game was a relatively peripheral member of G-Unit to begin with, but his departure kicked off a ton of drama. I'm too tired to rehash the whole thing, so just read it on Wikipedia if you're not familiar with the story.
Earlier this year, rumblings began to spread that Young Buck was not happy with G-Unit. Then those rumblings became public when Buck straight complained on radio about not getting his royalty checks from G-Unit. 50 shot back, saying that he set Buck up perfectly financially, but that Buck was irresponsible, blew through his money and lived beyond his means. 50 then announced on Miss Jones radio show on Hot 97 in New York, that Buck was no longer a member of G-Unit. Yup, Buck was ousted from the crew like Olivia and The Game.
Things were quiet for a while but then Buck hooked up with some people 50 might call enemies, and a war of words launched again. 50 decided to hit below the belt this time though and he released a taped phone conversation between him and Buck, in which Buck was sniffling and crying to 50 about the whole situation.
Listen to the audio here:
And now, predictably, Buck has released a "diss" record in response:
I hate to say it, but damn the members of G-Unit are some bitches. That taped conversation between 50 and Young Buck sounds like a ho pleading with her pimp to take her back. Pathetic. I've got to say that I at least respect The Game for the way he handled his shit. He may have a butterfly tattooed on his face, but he's no wimp. He released new music on his own and hasn't looked back at 50 since. I doubt Buck will be able to do the same.
