I liked the first two Austin Powers' movies quite a bit. "Goldmember" was alright -- Sorry, Beyonce -- but it didn't top "The Spy Who Shagged Me." Mike Myers is pretty much a make-up, costume actor and when he doesn't have on all the bells and whistles, he's just another funny looking Canadian guy.
So, to Mike's credit, rather than overstretch the already thin, but successful, Austin Powers brand, he's decided to deliver us a new character, Pitka. Pitka is clearly Myers' take on spiritual leader Deepak Chopra. Mike humored Chopra up by inserting him as a fish-out-of-water type in a story about a hockey player and helping him regain his focus. (Isn't this the mojo plot line regurgitated?) Look, we all know the story doesn't really matter. Which is why Myers made sure to throw in Justin Timberlake and Jessica Alba to make sure that somebody with star power could draw people to the theaters. And for good measure, he had Timberlake wear a speedo. Yikes.
Check out this interview of the two from the AP, where they discuss the film and foreign accents.
