1 LIL WAYNE FEAT STATIC / LOLLIPOP
- Summer of Wayne is off to a strong start. Weezy is going to dominate '08.
2 LEONA LEWIS / BLEEDING LOVE
- BL continues its reign at the top, I just wonder if Leona can follow up this monster hit with another.
3 COLDPLAY / VIVA LA VIDA
- This song is the jam. And the Apple iTunes commercial only cemented its cool status. Great marketing job, folks.
4 RIHANNA / TAKE A BOW
- The "to the left, to the left" jam of '08 is still going full steam ahead. This should hold us all over until RIhanna's next album comes out. Which will be in about....three seconds.
5 KATY PERRY / I KISSED A GIRL
- I don't know what to think of this song. Sonically, it's got a nice beat and it's a catchy tune. But lyrically, it's such a cheap appeal to our society's infatuation with faux-lesbianism and bicurious females. Oh well, Katy probably won't be around for us to really dissect this throwaway song anyway.
6 RAY J FEAT YUNG BERG / SEXY CAN I
- Cougars must be doing Ray J some good because this song is staying put in the top ten.
7 USHER FEAT YOUNG JEEZY / LOVE IN THIS CLUB
- Alright, we've made enough love in the club! I need my tear-jerking ballad "Moving Mountains" to get some chart love.
8 JORDIN SPARKS DUET WITH CHRIS BROWN / NO AIR
- For a song about having no air, this song sure has been floating high for a while.
9 DAVID COOK / TIME OF MY LIFE
- Whew. This 'Idol' throwaway single is almost out of the top ten already. Not surprising. Now let's see how Cook's REAL first single performs.
10 MADONNA FEAT JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE / 4 MINUTES
- This collabo has been beyond successful for Madonna, Timbo and Justin. But I need radio to ease off a bit, I want to hear her joint with Pharrell, "Give It 2 Me." It's a cougar jam, bammas.
