There's nothing Jim Jones, the gutter rat former Diplomat, won't do for a buck. Jim Jones is taking his life story to the stage in an off-Broadway production called "Hip-Hop monologues: Inside the Life and Mind of Jim Jones.," but it's not out of any deep-seated love for the theater. He needs the money.
As usual with major label rappers, Jim's ego doesn't allow ANY creative outlet not to be about himself. When rappers do movies, it's about THEIR life stories. When they launch clothing lines, it's got their name, their face on it. So naturally, rather than use his platform as a (demi) celebrity to create or produce an original theater production NOT about himself, Jim Jones is pushing Jim Jones. I swear rappers are like toddlers: MINE! MINE! ME! ME!
The AP was kind enough to talk with Jones about his theatrical debut. Watch below.
If Jim Jones is actually able to get people to watch this crap, prepare for the onslaught of Hip hop productions coming to a theater near you. I can see it now, "Superman Dat Ho: The Soulja Boy story."
