You know your president is black when you hear that he's hosting a poetry/spoken word juke joint at the White House.
Talk about change, I'm sure half of America has never heard of, nor been to a poetry session. It's most likely considered a hippie, liberal, socialist activity and as such, is not ENTERTAINED in the REAL AMERICA. But Barack and Michelle don't give a damn, and they've opened up the White House to the beatniks, poets and artists. Watch Mr. and Mrs. Obama introduce the event last night.
It's great that different people who've probably never felt a connection to the presidency, much less the White House, are actually being invited to engage and interact with our president. Barack, of course after this poetry jam, you know other minority groups will also want their own White House events. I can see it now: a White House drag show, a White House Quincenera, a White House Bar Mitzvah and a White House Pokemon tournament. You might've bought more than you bargained with this, Mr. President.
