The Ike & Tina Turner saga 2009 remix has come to an end. Chris Brown pled guilty to battering pop music's darling Rihanna, and he copped a plea deal getting 5 years probation and six months of community labor. Community labor meaning picking up garbage, cleaning graffiti and hopefully polishing urinals in the mens' room with his tongue. Rihanna also made an appearance -- looking the picture-perfect part of a formerly-battered woman scorned with a conservative black dress, pearls and dark shades -- and the judge issued a stay-away order for the two of them, 50 yards minimum but at industry events 10 yards.
Here's video footage of the hearing.
Now that Chriannagate is over, I'm eager to see how the two will address this saga when they release their next projects. Chris has stated he's aiming to release new material this summer, and his lawyer Mark Geragos is peddling the story that Chris is taking "responsibility" for his actions. That's good and all, but we'll see if the public buys it up. What Team Brown needs to do is have somebody book couch time with Oprah stat, before Rihanna does.
