Ashanti, who hasn't released a hit record since 2004, made an appearance at a Boys and Girls Club event in which she encouraged all the children there to "be great." I'm sure the children looked at each other puzzled, then turned their gaze back at Ashanti and said, "You first."
Watch the video of Ashanti talking to the Boys and Girls Club. Warning: Bark + Bite takes no responsibility for the painfully irritating nature of Ashanti's voice.
Nelly, I don't know how you do it, bruh. That "good, good" better be worth it. While it's nice that Ashanti is engaging in charity, how much you wanna bet the kids would've taken the message to "be great" much more seriously if it came from someone who IS GREAT. You know, like Beyonce.
If Ashanti is giving speeches on being great, I can only imagine that Ja Rule is out on the road holding seminars on how to build a successful career. FAIL on you, Murda Inc.
