Wale is sort of known in the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) area, but even here, he's struggled to find support from the local radio stations. As Wale has griped publicly several times on Twitter, WKYS 93.9 has failed to put his song "Chillin" in heavy rotation. Oh, they're too busy playing "smash hits" like "Swag Surfin'" and "Every Girl." But the lack of local radio support hasn't stopped Wale in his quest to put DMV on the map. Yet.
Wale sat down for an interview with the Associated Press in which he talked about working on his album and having to comply with the demands of a major label.
I wish nothing but success for Wale, not only cause he's from the DMV like me, but because his music actually makes you feel good. Don't believe me? Just listen to "Chillin'," which was a slept-on summer anthem.
