Sorry, Britney, but it's not about Peter, Paul and Mary. It's all about Nelly, Tim and SoShy. When Timbaland's bloodsucking vampire single "Morning After Dark" premiered last week on Ryan Seacrest's radio show, it felt like the song was missing an important ingredient. Sort of like mashed potatoes without gravy. SoShy, who features on the single, is a newcomer to the Mosley Music family and while she appears to blend undisruptively with Tim's beats, she's clearly no Nelly Furtado. Nelly and Tim's unique musical chemistry snaps, crackles and pops like Rice Crispies. Nelly's voice darts in and around Timbo's dizzying beats resulting in nothing but ear candy and pure magic. But save for the lead single "Give it to Me" from "Shock Value" in '07, the pair haven't worked together since Nelly's pop masterpiece "Loose."
But by luck or by accident, the magic is back. A version of "Morning After Dark" with Nelly Furtado thrown into the mix has surfaced and her presence on the song greatly improves on the original. Like Ash from Pokemon unleashing his electrifying little Pikachu on an unsuspecting opponent, Tim commands, "GO NELLY!" and off she goes shocking our senses and turning the fun switch on. "I wanna go undercover, I just wanna rattle your bones," Nelly says. Her voice sounds equal parts thrilling and haunting, which is a perfect blend for the Twilight-inspired single. Her appearance on the track is short, but undeniably memorable.

Reports state that this version of the single is the one that will be serviced to radio and iTunes.
