Justin Timberlake and Timbaland changed the game when the two of them united for Justin's sophomore album "FutureSex/LoveSounds" and its anti-pop single "Sexy Back." The song's distorted vocals and helter skelter tempo were a tough sell at first for the former boy bander. Where were the sweeping hooks of "Bye, Bye, Bye" or even the enchanting disco chorus of "Rock Your Body" from his debut? And what was with those distorted vocals? Was this a pop record or a Nine Inch Nails track? But in the end, the gamble paid off and the duo have been attached at the hip since.
Tim and Justin's bromance has gotten so deep that Timbaland is now blurting out in interviews that Justin is his "best friend." Magoo is somewhere sobbing his eyes out. What a betrayal.
Justin and Tim got together to film an infomercial of sorts for their collaboration on Tim's "Shock Value 2." It looks more like a pilot episode for MTV's "Bromance" which used to star Brody Jenner.
With all the patting on the back and self-congratulating, you'd think that these two boy scouts were bunking together every night. Tim is convinced that everything he and Justin come up with is amazing, perfect, magical and fueled by an inexplicable chemistry. It's almost as they were soul mates...Maybe Tim's enthusiasm over reuniting with Justin Timberlake is because he just came out of the doldrums with Chris Cornell? After giving birth that deformed creature, it's no wonder Tim's giddy to be back on familiar territory.
Either way, it's looking like if NSYNC ever reunites, Justin's gonna have to make room for a sixth member because Tim is stuck to JT like honey to a bee. Let's just hope they reinforce the stage, cause Tim doing that "Bye, Bye, Bye" dance is gonna register on the Richter scale as a major earthquake.
