Rihanna performed at the Echo Awards, Germany's version of the Grammys, and she gave the Germans some of her island spice in the form of her new hit single "Rude Boy." But she didn't deliver her rude jam alone, she brought company this time. No, not big brothers Kanye and Jay-Z. Instead, she brought two hulking, robot transformers with her onstage. The robots might have actually been people in suits, which is likely since they responded to Rihanna's interactions so rapidly. Or maybe they're just wild and crazy hunks of metal looking to bust a few screws and loosen a few bolts. Either way, Rihanna dipped and twirked her little human rump for them much to the delight of the German audience.

If the point of the robots onstage was a symbolic representation of how Rihanna wants a "sex machine," rather than a gentleman, then it's a good concept. But it would be better executed with more human-like androids. The big, hulking bots were too toyish to warrant the sexual innuendo Rihanna was throwing their way. Those things are better off being sent back to FAO Schwartz or whatever high-end toy store they came from.
